Pastoral Care CommitteePastoral care is for many the primary task of the Church - some see it as looking after the sheep! There are many ways that we as a congregation care for the members of our church family. There is as part of the Congregational Board a Pastoral Care committee. This committee is responsible for the oversight of all the different types of pastoral care that we offer. Home VisitingOur minister makes many home visits. Sometimes these visits occur at the request of the member and other times the take place as a result of the initiative of the minister. If you would like a visit from the minister of know of someone else who would, please call the church office. Hospital VisitingBeing alone in hospital dealing with invasive procedures can being a trying time. As a congregation we try to assist folk during this time by providing hospital visitation services. As well as the minister visiting in the hospital we have a trained and certified lay person who visits the area hospitals once a week. Again, if you know of someone in hospital who needs as visit, please call the Church office. Nursing Home VisitingOur minister makes regular pastoral visits to area nursing homes where members of our congregation are residents. As well, members of the women and men's group will often go visiting residents. Should you know of someone who is in a nursing home or is moving into a nursing home and needs some special care, please feel free to call us. Pastoral CounselingWhile our minister is able to help people on their spiritual journey, he is also trained in helping people over the rough spots on the path of life such as: grief, death and dying, separation and divorce, job loss and family issues. All counseling is offered in the strictest of confidence. |
